• Worked as a Broadcast Journalist across radio and online for BBC Asian Network’s drive show, as well as BBC Newsbeat.
• Used data and search interests to pitch, edit and create original treatments for
broadcast radio reports for an under 25 demographic.
• Wrote online articles for the BBC News website, as well as film and create
content for social media.
• Newsreader for half hourly bulletins across Asian Network’s drive show.
• Produced the show to ensure output sounds as smooth and professional as
possible.

• Attended red carpet premieres and interviewed A-list celebrities such as George Clooney, Florence Pugh and Daniel Craig.

• Successfully launched a brand new TikTok channel, specialising in entertainment news; hit 1M views on the second published video less than a week after the launch.
• Advising freelancers and junior members of the team on house style, plus sub-
editing work before publication.
• Created graphic assets using Adobe AfterEffects to use in videos.
• Experience in recruiting and interviewing potential candidates for future roles in the team.

Appointed after creating and posting a ‘TikTok CV’ on Twitter (which later featured in an article for VICE).


Working across Channel 5 News’ digital output:
• Created and scheduled graphics for Instagram - this included pull quotes, the main stories of the day, and short videos our audience would be interested in.
• Tweeted and scheduled breaking news and wires throughout the day; resulted in a 10K follower increase on Twitter due to being featured so often in Twitter Moments.
• Edited, scheduled and posted videos from social media or wires.
• Output the show as-live on Twitter using Media Studio.

2020

INTERACTIVE RESEARCHER

Saturday Mash-Up, BBC

Series 3 of CBBC's Saturday Mash-Up! (Later renamed to Saturday Mash-Up: House Party! due to Covid-19). 

• Experience of working on live TV studio production. 

• Managed both front and backend of CBBC's website, created and published pages and videos, as well as create relevant promotions for the front and homepage; resulted in an increase of 2,000 fans since February. Also, advanced competency at using Riddle quiz engine to create quizzes/games for audience every week, including one of the best performing pieces of content on the SMU homepage.

• Worked unconventional shift patterns: Tuesday to Saturday, with a 5:30am call-time on Saturdays.

• Used Telescope and Uploader for official votes and competitions, including deciding competition winners by random from entries.

• Control of CBBC's social accounts: created and uploaded YouTube videos to CBBC YouTube account, and created and published memes/content for CBBC's Instagram, both for grid and stories every Saturday.

• Worked directly with talent on every show, including guests and also hosts.

• Brainstormed ideas for segments of the show.

• Assisted as runner on pre-recorded VT segments with talent.

• Completed placements with both digital and radio teams. 
• Online - identifying/researching stories that fit younger (16-24) target audience and digital remit, shot and edited videos; led Instagram account to  create bespoke content aimed towards a younger audience (e.g. stories) - gained 400+ followers in first month after taking control.
• Radio - pitching ideas, sourcing content, arranging guests, producing vox pops and radio packages, writing cues and scripts for presenters.

• Completed training with BBC Academy for planning, recording, and broadcasting for online, TV, radio (including voice training for bulletins/presenting), and Journalism Foundation.​
